any of the legal poste (even those to which cadets have 8; Em proferential claim) are not now filled by Cadet officers, chiefly because few of those now in the Service have passed the necessary examinations in law, or have been called to the sur. I suggest, therefore, that the Secretary of State should be requested to Bake known at British Universities the fact that there are many postu in the Cadet Service to which officers who are called to the dar have a preferential claim, and that intending cariidates should be advised to 'eat dinners' while studying for their egree, so that they may be called to the Jar either before they leave England or during their first spell of long leave. If his is done, there would be a regular supply of cadets to fill he legal poste. I would go further and suggest that, as in the egal departments a knowledge of Chinose has been shown by past xperience not to be absolutely necessary, however desirable it may , it would be preferable (according to the requiroments of the ervice ut any given time) to arrange that the Cadets, appointed
